Implementation of a new HR IT system at Foxconn CZ a.s.

Changing the personnel IT system for a company is like the transplantation of a vital organ for a person. If it was not successful, the life of the company would be threatened. Foxconn has perfectly prepared for this step, and thanks to this, its HR department is gradually moving to the SAP SuccessFactors cloud solution.

MIBCON a.s. as a data integrator

The transition project from on-premise SAP ERP HCM to cloud-based SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite in Foxconn was implemented by AKT. MIBCON a.s. has contributed its know-how in the role of an integrator in the first phase of the project, when AKT implemented the core of SuccessFactors, i.e. the Employee Central module. This is a database with key information about employees, which also includes an interface for data management.

At this stage, MIBCON ensured that all data from the current HR platform was delivered to SAP SuccessFactors in a new and transformed form. And also vice versa, so that the new cloud personnel system is able to communicate with other systems (mainly payroll) that continue to run on-premise on SAP ERP HCM.

“First, we created the data transfer architecture and defined the way to maintain it in the future,” explains the head of the project team at MIBCON a.s. Ivan Seda. “We adjusted the ERP system so that it works properly even in the new mode, in which it is no longer the primary source of data. We set up integration scenarios on the middleware and mapped the individual items to each other through indepth work. We made sure that the change in the primary data source did not affect the correctness of salary calculations and subsequent operations, including payments,” Ivan Šeda describes the preparation for the transfer of data to the cloud.

“The integration of the system took place quickly and without any problems. Thanks to this, we now work in a more modern and user-friendly environment, which is also used by the employees themselves,” confirms the success of the first phase of the transition to SuccessFactors, Jitka Kratochvílová, Director of the Compliance and Relationship Development Department at Foxconn.

Modern technology as the core of Foxconn’s strategy

In addition to the Employee Central module, which will be the primary system for acquiring and maintaining employee data, Foxconn will also use the Recruiting Execution, Onboarding, Performance Goals, and Compensation modules, Learning, Succession Development. Smart tools that can be controlled via a mobile phone and connected to social networks in the area of recruitment should help the company to ensure greater motivation, satisfaction and productivity of its 4,400 employees. Last but not least, the SuccessFactors solution creates the prerequisites for GDPR compliance.
