Bernhardt Fashion: Innovative implementation project succeeds in SAP Quality Awards
- July 11, 2024
SAP S/4HANA and SAP Commerce “tailor-made” implementation project of Bernhardt Fashion CZ, s.r.o. received a bronze medal in the SAP Quality Awards 2019.
The Bernhardt Fashion company is a leading Czech manufacturer in the field of tailor-made clothing. Now it can boast not only successes in foreign markets, but also an international award for quality in the field of IT system implementations. At the SAP NOW 2019 conference, it was taken over by Jindřich Koryčan, business director and CEO of Bernhardt.
The company received a bronze medal in the SAP Quality Awards CEE competition in the Business Transformation category for the project of implementing the new SAP S/4HANA business system and the SAP Commerce system. The implementing partner in this project was our company MIBCON a.s.
Our representatives Jan Filip and Roman Pavlovský presented the experience of implementation on SAP NOW, within the Customer Stories section.
One ERP system instead of the original two
The jury appreciated that, as part of the project, the company covered previously fragmented SAP processes operating online, in real time. The new generation of the SAP S/4HANA 1709 business system replaced two ERP systems, but at the same time preserved the specifics of the company, which in Prostějov sews clothes for demanding clients from 40 countries on 5 continents, where Bernhardt has approximately 800 Point-of-Sales. Every product is original thanks to individual selections of fabric, customer measurements, color or cut options. All this enables the creation of a unique design for each client.
Project phase
The project consisted of two phases – in the first phase, we implemented a system for the areas of finance, logistics and production (SAP S/4HANA 1709). The implementation took 12 months, the system was put into productive operation in January 2019. This was followed by the deployment of the sales and order portal (SAP Commerce).
The main benefits of the “new” SAP S/4HANA system:
- Preservation of know-how for unique processes – migration of customer development to the new system
- Faster and smoother shipment of goods – reduction of administration and documentation for the export of goods – 50% labor savings. Shipping cost savings of 20-40%.
- Simplification and acceleration of invoicing – only electronically and directly from SAP S/4HANA
- Receivables management – the possibility of blocking deliveries until unpaid invoices are paid, while customers receive automatic notifications of open receivables.
- Goods arriving at the warehouse – in the former IS, each item of goods had to be received individually. Now the system takes over the entire set in one click. The time reduction of the receipt of goods into the warehouse by almost 70%.
- Faster decision-making processes, real-time data analysis – the ability to report results and financial statements immediately (previously it could take several days).
