SAP EWM add-ons (9.): Piece-by-piece picking

Our SAP EWM extension that allows scanned EAN codes of each item during picking to simultaneously add up the picked quantity.

Business case

In some picking processes, it is more efficient to scan the EAN code of each item rather than using the standard method of scanning the EAN code and manually entering the quantity.

The standard picking process on the reader involves confirming by scanning the label of the source storage bin, the EAN code of the given item, and manually entering/confirming the quantity.

However, for example, when picking one-piece orders for e-commerce customers and in other cases, it is more efficient to scan the EAN code of each piece.

mib:solution

Our solution addresses this need. It allows scanning each individual piece of the picked item separately. This option is integrated into the reader and the standard picking process, with the ability to activate it for selected parts of the warehouse.

By scanning each individual item, the quantity is automatically entered into the system, which can lead to more accurate results in practice.
