Discover our SAP EWM add-on offering an extended warehouse monitor for better visibility, additional information, and enhanced functionality.
In our series on add-ons for SAP EWM, I have already mentioned topics related to warehouse management. In today’s post, I want to focus on the warehouse monitor, which is the core control and management tool in EWM.”
The standard warehouse monitor is a very powerful tool for operational and tactical warehouse management. However, the default reports in the monitor are often cluttered. At first glance, they display many less important details, and it is always a time-consuming task to create clear and understandable layouts. Additionally, some key information or links for a more comfortable workflow are missing. Lastly, certain methods for quickly working with selected data are also lacking.
Our warehouse monitor extensions provide access to a range of important information, making it easily accessible so that warehouse management has the most critical details in one place. Our goal is to resolve as much as possible from a single screen, rather than having to search for information across multiple locations.
As one of examples, we can provide information on the quantity and status of picking and packing at the delivery item level, or customer-specific reports within the warehouse monitor.
Another example is a special method that allows changing the storage type of an existing storage bin with a single click, even if it contains stock (normally, you would have to move the stock elsewhere, delete the storage bin, create a new one with a different storage type, and then move the original stock back).
Another interesting feature is the calculation of storage delays compared to the planned deadline in the receiving process.
We have been gradually expanding the solution based on the requirements of other warehouses since 2019. The improvements we achieve are then made available to our other customers.
